On this episode of The Hanford Insider, get an inside look at the downtown murals with the artist Jennifer Butts.
00:00:08.720 --> 00:00:15.679
Rob will give you a quick review of the community calendar, and later I'll be back with your sports report.
00:00:16.160 --> 00:00:20.559
This is the Hanford Insider for Monday, November 24th.
00:00:39.920 --> 00:00:47.679
Welcome to the Hanford Insider Podcast, where we bring you closer to the stories, people, and events that make our community one of a kind.
00:00:47.920 --> 00:00:56.240
I'm your host, Rob Bentley, and each week we dive into the heart of Hanford, from hometown history to the voices shaping our city today.
00:00:56.479 --> 00:01:04.319
Whether you're a lifelong resident or discovering Hanford for the first time, this is your front row seat to see what's happening right here at home.
00:01:05.519 --> 00:01:17.519
In community news this week, the Hanford City Council met last Tuesday, so be sure to check out Mayor Payton's Wednesday wrap-up that has been posted at HanfordInsider.com to get the latest news.
00:01:18.560 --> 00:01:29.680
You might have noticed that Amtrak has rebranded the San Joaquin route that runs through central California to the new name Gold Runner, shining a new light on the statewide train and bus service.
00:01:29.840 --> 00:01:38.640
The Goldrunner provides riders the opportunity to travel California end to end, from Yosemite to the coast, and other landmarks in between.
00:01:39.040 --> 00:01:46.560
Amtrak is also a partner with Hanford Winter Wonderland and will have specials bringing visitors to town to enjoy this annual tradition.
00:01:47.120 --> 00:01:50.400
Amtrak has been a popular way to visit Hanford for years.
00:01:50.560 --> 00:02:01.439
I know that at the Carnegie Museum we see lots of visitors who rode the train to town for the Renaissance Festival, Moon Festival, special concerts, or maybe just a Superior Dairy Ice Cream.
00:02:01.920 --> 00:02:06.480
We're pretty fortunate to be connected with so much of the world by their tracks running through town.
00:02:08.080 --> 00:02:14.879
Winter Wonderland opened on Saturday, and Mayor Travis Payton lit the Christmas tree in a ceremony atop a Hanford firetruck.
00:02:15.039 --> 00:02:17.680
Here's what he had to say following the ceremony.
00:02:18.159 --> 00:02:29.680
I just want to thank everybody in the community for coming out to last night's Christmas tree lighting and the opening of Winter Wonderland in beautiful downtown Hanford.
00:02:30.080 --> 00:02:39.039
It was a great event, and I hope you join us this season for ice skating, fantastic food, and a lot of fun.
00:02:39.840 --> 00:02:44.479
This week I held a special contest for Winter Wonderland and Hanford Christmas Parade.
00:02:44.639 --> 00:02:50.560
I asked listeners to share this last week's episode on their own social media to help get the word out.
00:02:50.800 --> 00:02:58.159
With over 100 entries, I'm proud to announce that Haley Moreno has been selected as the lucky winner of the grand prize.
00:02:58.319 --> 00:03:07.120
It includes four Winter Wonderland skating passes, four reserved VIP bleach receipts to the parade, and a superior dairy gift card.
00:03:07.360 --> 00:03:08.960
Congratulations, Haley.
00:03:09.120 --> 00:03:16.080
Give me an email at HanfordInsider at gmail.com to coordinate the delivery of your prize, and I'll reach out to you as well.
00:03:16.719 --> 00:03:24.639
This Thanksgiving, I'd like to take a moment to thank all of my listeners, subscribers, financial contributors, and especially my guests.
00:03:24.879 --> 00:03:31.120
It's hard to believe that I started this hobby nearly five years ago, and it's so gratifying to see what it has become.
00:03:31.840 --> 00:03:40.639
If you're at the Hanford Christmas Parade on Friday, be sure to come to my announcing stand at the intersection of 7th Street and Erman Street, and I'd like to thank you in person.
00:03:43.599 --> 00:03:46.560

It's the most comprehensive community calendar available.
00:05:36.000 --> 00:05:46.639
Well, many of you have seen the outstanding murals in downtown Hanford at the King's Art Center, uh, and also in downtown Hanford at the corner of 6th and Irwin Street.
00:05:46.720 --> 00:05:52.560
And I'm very proud to have on the show today Jennifer Butts, who is the artist and muralist who painted those murals.
00:05:52.720 --> 00:05:53.839
Welcome to the show, Jennifer.
00:05:54.079 --> 00:05:54.959
Thank you very much.
00:05:55.839 --> 00:05:57.759
So, Jennifer, let's start at the beginning.
00:05:57.920 --> 00:06:01.040
Uh, when did art first become a big part of your life?
00:06:01.439 --> 00:06:04.319
When I was little, I spent time with my uncle.
00:06:04.480 --> 00:06:08.720
My brother and I spent time with my uncle, and he was in the middle of getting an art degree.
00:06:08.879 --> 00:06:11.120
So we got to see all his projects.
00:06:11.439 --> 00:06:16.879
And that early age of seven is when I started really getting interested in art.
00:06:17.040 --> 00:06:23.439
And I took every single art class available, took art center classes that were in my town.
00:06:23.519 --> 00:06:25.680
I'm from Arkansas, so Little Rock, Arkansas.
00:06:25.759 --> 00:06:30.959
So the art center there was a big part of my brother and my young life growing up.
00:06:31.199 --> 00:06:37.519
And then in all through school, in college, I took I had a degree in art education.
00:06:37.839 --> 00:06:43.680
So I took art all the way through from age seven till, you know, college.
00:06:43.759 --> 00:06:47.439
And I spend a lot of time always still doing art.
00:06:47.920 --> 00:06:48.399
Of course.
00:06:48.560 --> 00:06:49.759
That's what artists do, right?
00:06:49.920 --> 00:06:50.240
Yeah.
00:06:50.480 --> 00:06:55.839
So was there a particular person or place or experience that you realized art was your calling?
00:06:56.160 --> 00:07:00.720
Um, I think just from uh that same young age, I just had a l a love for it.
00:07:00.800 --> 00:07:08.959
I spent all my time drawing and sketching and had a ton of art supplies that I never had a chance to to use enough of.
00:07:09.199 --> 00:07:12.879
But I just I spent a ton of time just doing it.
00:07:13.120 --> 00:07:25.600
When I was in college, I uh was actually studying special education and um and I was finding that I spent all night long for a lot of nights doing art.
00:07:25.759 --> 00:07:32.879
And I'm like, I just need to shift over to I needed at that point in college, I wanted to be able to travel internationally as a teacher.
00:07:33.120 --> 00:07:42.720
And so I didn't need specifically a a specific type of art or a specific type of education degree to travel as a teacher.
00:07:42.879 --> 00:07:47.600
I just needed a teaching license to travel and be able to do stuff internationally.
00:07:47.759 --> 00:07:54.399
So I switched over to art education, finished up with straight A's at that point, which I was not getting earlier.
00:07:54.639 --> 00:08:00.000
And then I hit the road and started traveling internationally as a teacher from there on.
00:08:00.399 --> 00:08:01.839
So let's talk about that for a minute.
00:08:02.000 --> 00:08:04.399
I understand you were in Central America for 18 years.
00:08:04.639 --> 00:08:05.279
Yes, yeah.
00:08:05.439 --> 00:08:13.279
I was um worked with a ministry of like kind of street kids, abandoned kids, kids that had a bunch of different background issues.
00:08:13.519 --> 00:08:19.519
And uh I met my husband who's from Hanford there, and that's how he and I met back when I was 30.
00:08:19.839 --> 00:08:20.879
Oh, that's great.
00:08:21.120 --> 00:08:28.079
And then um I t I taught probably 12 years in Honduras as an English teacher.
00:08:28.319 --> 00:08:37.440
Well, as an elementary teacher, so I taught English, bilingual, Spanish, whatever, and not necessarily art, but art was interwoven in all the stuff.
00:08:37.679 --> 00:08:44.320
Yeah, we had a ministry with a bunch of kids, and I was able to teach there and and just enjoy my art with them.
00:08:44.399 --> 00:08:46.559
So art was all always in that.
00:08:46.799 --> 00:08:51.440
Um and then we ended up moving back here.
00:08:52.000 --> 00:08:59.360
When I first got my teaching degree, I I lived in China and taught college English for seven months there.
00:08:59.679 --> 00:09:11.120
I also traveled down in Mexico and South America and Central America, different places, and did little teaching projects, but basically as I was traveling just for fun.
00:09:11.440 --> 00:09:14.559
And then yeah, then I was able to come here and teach.
00:09:14.799 --> 00:09:17.120
I taught 15 years total.
00:09:17.519 --> 00:09:23.440
So elementary kind of general education and then art up to high school.
00:09:23.759 --> 00:09:32.320
And then I moved here and decided I wanted to do something different after 15 years of teaching, and murals are kind of making a comeback.
00:09:32.399 --> 00:09:35.919
So I thought, well, I'm gonna go for it and try it and see how it works.
00:09:36.320 --> 00:09:39.120
So you mentioned murals, and that's why we're here.
00:09:39.200 --> 00:09:43.600
You know, everybody is so happy about these murals that are going up, and you're right, they are making a comeback.
00:09:43.679 --> 00:09:49.120
You've been involved in mural projects in several different uh communities over the last few years.
00:09:49.360 --> 00:09:53.039
When did you first paint a mural and what was that experience like?
00:09:53.440 --> 00:10:01.200
I painted a mural in my patio in Honduras for the weekend while my husband and son were at a father-son retreat.
00:10:01.519 --> 00:10:11.919
So I was able to just piddle and I wanted to do a like an Italian uh beach ocean scene and make our little patio area really comfortable and welcoming.
00:10:12.080 --> 00:10:13.679
And it was super easy.
00:10:13.840 --> 00:10:17.039
It was no big deal, and I thought, oh, I can totally do this.
00:10:17.279 --> 00:10:20.960
Large scale was easy, as easy as working on a small canvas.
00:10:21.279 --> 00:10:23.360
So that was my first mural.
00:10:23.440 --> 00:10:30.320
Then I did a mural for a friend of mine who had a school for the deaf in Tego Sigalpa Honduras.
00:10:30.480 --> 00:10:50.799
I did a that was a uh my biggest piece of artwork at that point, and it was bringing in local scenery and local settings onto the wall so that the children could enjoy just looking visually and and enjoying all the art of their area in a little world of of no hearing.
00:10:50.879 --> 00:10:53.360
So I wanted to make it visually very rich for them.
00:10:53.679 --> 00:10:54.240
That's awesome.
00:10:54.480 --> 00:10:56.879
So those are my two Honduras murals.
00:10:57.120 --> 00:11:00.639
And then I came here and did bounced all over doing murals.
00:11:00.720 --> 00:11:03.200
So I've done almost 60 at this point.
00:11:03.840 --> 00:11:04.559
60.
00:11:05.759 --> 00:11:06.480
That's great.
00:11:06.639 --> 00:11:15.840
You know, we think of the two recent ones in Hanford, but if we follow you on social media, which we'll talk about in just a moment, we can see examples of your project there and on your website.
00:11:16.000 --> 00:11:22.240
So let's uh walk through the typical process from concept of a mural to completion.
00:11:22.799 --> 00:11:34.639
So sometimes I'll ask around if people want murals, but once people know about me, they'll just come to me or they'll see, like you said on social media, uh different images that I already do.
00:11:34.799 --> 00:11:42.720
They'll see if they like a certain style, and then they'll come and offer um the opportunity to start the conversation.
00:11:42.960 --> 00:11:53.279
So once we start a conversation on murals, then it's we look at theme, a specific wall, like the size, and we just kind of bounce ideas around.
00:11:53.360 --> 00:12:01.279
They'll show me images, I'll show them images, and once we kind of latch onto a theme and an image style, then we'll I'll start sketching.
00:12:01.519 --> 00:12:10.799
So I'll sketch either traditionally on just paper with pen, crayon, or color pencils, whatever, watercolor, whatever.
00:12:11.039 --> 00:12:14.879
And then or I can do it uh through digital art.
00:12:15.279 --> 00:12:17.039
Yeah, you use Procreate, right?
00:12:17.200 --> 00:12:18.159
Yes, I use Procreate.
00:12:18.240 --> 00:12:18.639
I love it.
00:12:18.720 --> 00:12:19.600
Yeah, that's a great program.
00:12:19.759 --> 00:12:20.559
Yes, for sure.
00:12:20.720 --> 00:12:21.120
For sure.
00:12:21.519 --> 00:12:27.039
How do you decide on color palettes and design elements for a specific wall or neighborhood?
00:12:27.360 --> 00:12:27.600
Right.
00:12:27.759 --> 00:12:35.200
I tend to choose bright colors no matter what I'm gonna do because I I feel like they bring joy to people when they see them.
00:12:35.519 --> 00:12:38.080
Not everybody likes the bright colors, but that's okay.
00:12:38.320 --> 00:12:42.480
They don't have to embrace every style and every color arrangement.
00:12:43.279 --> 00:12:50.240
How long does an average mural take and what kind of preparation goes into before the first brush stroke hits the wall?
00:12:50.799 --> 00:12:52.000
That's a great question.
00:12:52.240 --> 00:12:53.759
I actually get that a bunch.
00:12:54.000 --> 00:12:56.000
It starts with the conversation.
00:12:56.240 --> 00:13:07.759
It's and then once the images are designed, which that actually takes me about four or five times longer than the actual mural, is getting the design just right and approved.
00:13:08.080 --> 00:13:24.000
Um then we do city approval and then uh we'll find the building, an owner who wants to do it, the funding that's gonna happen, get the city approval, and then actually the artwork on the wall, it's goes pretty quick.
00:13:24.320 --> 00:13:42.000
So, like the downtown, of course, it depends on size, texture, details of the artwork, but downtown on Sixth Avenue or Sixth Street, that one took um three weeks of four to six hours a day, Monday through Friday.
00:13:42.399 --> 00:13:44.399
Yeah, and you had a lot of heat to contend with, yeah.
00:13:45.120 --> 00:13:48.159
Yeah, and I was watching what you always have to watch the weather and the heat.
00:13:48.240 --> 00:13:51.440
And as I get older, I'm not super hip on the heat.
00:13:51.759 --> 00:13:59.679
So I tried to make uh tried to pick a time when it looked like the weather was gonna be nice enough to be comfortable.
00:13:59.919 --> 00:14:03.440
And then I create a shade over me, which is nice.
00:14:03.600 --> 00:14:13.360
I learned that trick from that tip from uh Colleen Vayner, who's done a ton of murals all in this area, and her artwork is always beautiful.
00:14:13.519 --> 00:14:26.240
And she sat with me when I first started and she gave me an hour worth of tips at a coffee shop, and I took took down all the notes that she and I talked about, and she gave she was a world of wisdom in this.
00:14:26.399 --> 00:14:36.399
So I just try to plan out weather and make sure the walls basically prepped for me and washed down for me, and then I just go for it and try.
00:14:36.639 --> 00:14:40.799
My goal is usually for um for the size walls I typically do.
00:14:40.960 --> 00:14:42.879
My goal is a week to two weeks.
00:14:43.120 --> 00:14:48.960
This one took a little longer because I just couldn't do late afternoon heat every single day.
00:14:49.039 --> 00:14:51.679
So, but one to two weeks is my hope.
00:14:51.919 --> 00:14:54.639
This one took three with shorter days.
00:14:55.519 --> 00:15:00.960
So as a muralist, uh what emotions do you hope to spark in people when they encounter your work?
00:15:01.279 --> 00:15:15.919
I hope that people see it and are brightened and encouraged, especially as we have so much um discouragement, I feel like, around with social media and whatever people, politics, all that stuff.
00:15:16.159 --> 00:15:19.279
Um so I want to bring joy into people's lives.
00:15:19.360 --> 00:15:28.559
I want them to look up, see uh reflection of maybe something they en something they like, especially the Hantford, the m the downtown Hantford one.
00:15:28.639 --> 00:15:36.159
I wanted to really bring some cool aspects of of uh our n our pride that we have in in this town.
00:15:36.399 --> 00:15:40.639
And I wanted to really encourage people just to enjoy what they've already got here.
00:15:40.799 --> 00:15:46.559
You know, lots of bright colors, fun things that might spark some fun memories for them.
00:15:47.120 --> 00:15:56.480
So before we leave the topic of the downtown mural, I thought people have questions about the types of uh graffiti abatement that's there and uh kinds of paint.
00:15:56.559 --> 00:15:57.919
How is that handled when you paint?
00:15:58.240 --> 00:16:03.600
Yeah, I have several different types of uh clear sealers that I will use.
00:16:03.679 --> 00:16:10.240
So I use mainly three different types of sealers according to the texture of the wall.
00:16:10.639 --> 00:16:15.519
So that protects from the the powerful sun damage that can happen.
00:16:15.679 --> 00:16:17.279
It can totally bleach out colors.
00:16:17.360 --> 00:16:36.799
So I do a sealer first, it's a nice thick coat of basically a clear plastic, and then I will do a graffiti abatement, a graffiti seal over it that's a little bit of like an oily coating that just makes the paint, any graffiti, easy to remove, which is really nice.
00:16:36.960 --> 00:16:47.759
So and I I stress as I'm painting and going home each night, I stress about please don't let any graffiti happen until I get the nice clear seal.
00:16:48.399 --> 00:16:53.279
Once the seal's on, I'm I can breathe and not worry too much about it.
00:16:53.360 --> 00:16:55.840
And then the graffiti is just an added protection.
00:16:56.080 --> 00:17:02.080
And now there are so many cleaners that can that I don't even need the graffiti abatement.
00:17:02.399 --> 00:17:10.000
The simple seal of clear coat is good enough with the newer or the the the cleaners that you can grab.
00:17:10.160 --> 00:17:13.440
I can literally spray on like a Windex type.
00:17:13.599 --> 00:17:16.960
It's not really Windex, but it's a spray of cleaner like that.
00:17:17.200 --> 00:17:22.079
You just spray it on, scrub it, and power wash it off, which is really nice.
00:17:22.480 --> 00:17:35.440
So that meant and if if I've got that clear coating that I'm protecting the colors of the mural with that clear coating, and so you can still spray without the graffiti, the graffiti cle coating.
00:17:35.680 --> 00:17:44.640
So with or without the graffiti coating, since I've sealed it, it's protected already from graffiti.
00:17:44.720 --> 00:17:51.200
I can still spray directly on the seal that I've put on there and it'll come right off, which is really nice.
00:17:51.440 --> 00:18:01.599
So but typically, typically, graffiti artists will respect other people's art and they won't mess with the mural as much.
00:18:01.839 --> 00:18:07.920
I've never had so far any graffiti on all of my murals, which is really nice.
00:18:08.480 --> 00:18:17.680
So I'm I'm thankful that they will those guys will typically respect the art and just go find another surface.
00:18:18.000 --> 00:18:20.559
Yeah, that's interesting about the respect that you mentioned.
00:18:20.799 --> 00:18:24.960
You said that murals are becoming quite popular in the area and in the Central Valley.
00:18:25.039 --> 00:18:28.400
And I know you've been involved in projects in other areas of the valley.
00:18:28.559 --> 00:18:30.240
Uh, can you highlight a few of those projects?
00:18:30.559 --> 00:18:35.759
Yeah, one of my favorites was in Sacramento in a backyard of a neighborhood downtown.
00:18:35.839 --> 00:18:37.519
And it's still one of my favorites.
00:18:37.759 --> 00:18:39.359
A friend of mine was a contractor.
00:18:39.440 --> 00:18:52.880
He came up and said, I've got two ugly garage walls of neighbors that lined that they those walls were the back corner of that yard that he was rebuilding, remodeling.
00:18:53.039 --> 00:19:01.200
And he was like, What can you do on those two walls that were directly on the property lines and unpainted for who knows how many years?
00:19:01.279 --> 00:19:03.279
So both walls looked horrible.
00:19:03.519 --> 00:19:11.440
And he said, I can you do an Italian vineyard, an Italian, um like a chalet kind of look.
00:19:11.759 --> 00:19:25.279
So the left wall that was in the very back of the yard became a really cool like a red brick, almost looking or red, reddish stucco chalet.
00:19:25.519 --> 00:19:29.519
And the right side was a a grape vineyard.
00:19:29.759 --> 00:19:40.880
And so now when you walk in that house and you look out the back, you see an Italian type scene all across the back with a water fountain and a little fire pit and different stuff.
00:19:41.039 --> 00:19:44.640
It enhanced the whole environment of the backyard and the house.
00:19:44.720 --> 00:19:53.759
So it it improved the value, I think, just by having a pretty scene instead of two ugly walls with stucco peeling off and whatever.
00:19:54.000 --> 00:19:57.039
So that was a that was a Sacramento backyard.
00:19:57.359 --> 00:20:06.960
Another one was a family that had a shed in their backyard in Sacramento, and they were Dutch and they wanted to have a scene from Holland painted on that shed.
00:20:07.599 --> 00:20:11.519
So they had two homes that they were renting out, and that shed is in the middle.
00:20:11.680 --> 00:20:21.519
So it's an attract, I think two homes, and that that was just added an attractive item, an attractive visual ambiance to the backyard, which was nice.
00:20:21.759 --> 00:20:22.799
Yeah, how about locally?
00:20:22.880 --> 00:20:25.279
I know uh you had the Kalinga project I saw.
00:20:25.680 --> 00:20:26.000
What else?
00:20:26.319 --> 00:20:26.480
Yep.
00:20:26.799 --> 00:20:33.599
Children's story book garden is where I kind of started here, and I have probably five or six different murals there.
00:20:33.759 --> 00:20:40.720
I actually had two of the murals I had, um, a group that needed a a surf project in the area.
00:20:40.799 --> 00:20:43.839
And so I took them over and there was about 20 people.
00:20:44.000 --> 00:20:45.440
I sketched it all out.
00:20:45.599 --> 00:20:53.680
I started the painting on two different murals to get them ready to come in and be not super scared of the learning process.
00:20:53.759 --> 00:21:00.880
And then I taught them how to do the finished, the finishing touches of the mural, and they started working.
00:21:01.039 --> 00:21:06.559
I had 20 people all around with paintbrushes in their hands from it.
00:21:06.799 --> 00:21:09.359
Yes, yeah, from kids to local lawyers.
00:21:09.440 --> 00:21:17.519
So it was really a whole fun array of people, and they just tackled it and and then I came up and touched up and and did a final seal on it to protect it.
00:21:17.599 --> 00:21:18.720
So that was fun.
00:21:19.039 --> 00:21:24.480
Um, I've also done several other things at the Hanford Art Center, the King's Art Center.
00:21:24.720 --> 00:21:27.599
I've done several things in the Navy in L'Amour.
00:21:27.680 --> 00:21:34.960
One of the squadrons invited me over and I did like six murals for them of their logo and different things.
00:21:35.200 --> 00:21:42.079
And then I put their their squadron logo on this Hanford mural.
00:21:42.400 --> 00:21:45.920
The jet has their logo of the fist of the fleet.
00:21:46.160 --> 00:21:47.359
Well, Easter egg on your mural.
00:21:48.240 --> 00:21:48.480
Yes.
00:21:48.559 --> 00:22:03.920
And so one of the guys I asked if he would give me a photo of their current jets that they're flying, and that becomes a uh almost a timestamp on the mural that 2025 is the exact jet that they're flying right now, at least for that squadron.
00:22:04.160 --> 00:22:07.359
So a fun little nice little Easter eggs on your yes, yes.
00:22:07.599 --> 00:22:08.000
That's great.
00:22:08.160 --> 00:22:09.039
So that's fun.
00:22:09.200 --> 00:22:09.599
Yeah.
00:22:09.920 --> 00:22:24.079
I wanted to ask you, uh I know that when the mural ordinance came up for the city of Hanford, it, you know, people were uh concerned about lots of things, you know, from graffiti all the way to um appropriateness of certain murals.
00:22:24.160 --> 00:22:28.240
And the city council decided to limit murals to the downtown area.
00:22:28.319 --> 00:22:30.559
And I know that you got up and spoke to that.
00:22:30.640 --> 00:22:38.880
And I'd like to ask you, what are the benefits of adding murals and artwork to other areas of the town other than just downtown?
00:22:39.279 --> 00:22:42.799
Well, it it was open to the whole city before.
00:22:43.039 --> 00:22:49.200
And then last, like in February of 24, it narrowed they narrowed it down to just downtown.
00:22:49.279 --> 00:22:53.279
And I'm not sure why, because we don't have a lot of murals anyway.
00:22:53.519 --> 00:22:53.680
No.
00:22:54.240 --> 00:23:00.640
So they narrowed it down to just downtown, which is cool to beautify that area is gonna be really nice to do.
00:23:00.799 --> 00:23:03.440
But I was asking them to open it back up.
00:23:03.680 --> 00:23:10.079
Their concerns were there were gonna be too many murals or or different styles that they weren't interested in.
00:23:10.319 --> 00:23:15.440
But in reality, we don't have a lot anyway, even when it was opened up.
00:23:16.160 --> 00:23:27.680
So benefits of having murals in the area or or art in general in any area tends to bring local pride to um to their community.
00:23:27.839 --> 00:23:35.119
It tends to boost business, it boosts earnings for the companies because it encourages more people to browse.
